TE 803: Professional Roles & Teaching Practice 11
Course Instructor: Amanda Baumann
This course was focused on social studies teaching in the classroom. I used my experiences from my student teaching to create a social studies unit where I taught and reflected on my teaching. During my unit creation I had to integrate at least one other subject into the unit so that it was not just focused on social studies. I chose to use language arts to integrate because it was something that was familiar to the students in my classroom due to the reading and writing program that they used.

TE 804: Reflection & Inquiry in Teaching Practice 11
Course Instructor: Timothy Bennett
This course was a combination course that followed my TE 802 course. This course focused on reflection and inquiry. I was in a section that was aimed specifically on science instruction. I used my experience from my student teaching to help discuss the problems I faced during my science instruction. Throughout the course I created a Science unit where I taught, analyzed and reflected on my implementation and I focused on specific Science lessons that forced me to think about integration with other subjects such as reading and writing.

CEP 800: Psychology of Learning in School and Other Settings
Course Instructor: Andrew Saltarelli
This course helped me expand my understanding of educational psychology, the different theories of learning among people and how to design technology-based learning experiences in the classroom. Throughout this course I wrote a personal theory of learning where I talked about learning and what it means to me. I developed and changed my thinking on this theory throughout the course and finalized it at the end of the course. Using Twitter and the discussion boards for the course I wrote about specific articles from our reading each week and discussed these readings with others in the course.

CEP 813: Electronic Assessment
Course Instructors: Sarah Keenan-Lechel, Spencer Greenhalph, and Aman Yadav
This course was focused on assessment using an online platform. During this course I familiarized myself with different platforms such as Google Classroom, MineCraft, and YouTube. I learned how to create both summative and formative assessments online and I learned how to make assessments more meaningful to students. Throughout the course I wrote different pieces such as a rubric 4.0 where I focused on what I thought was most important to look for when assessing students.

CEP 820: Teaching Students Online
Course Instructors: Dr. Anne Heintz and Swati Mehta
Throughout this course I created an online course using Weebly where I built the course with my students in mind. At the time I was teaching first grade and chose to focus on writing. I developed an online course with four lessons that helped teach students how to write an opinion writing piece. In the lessons I used the "I do, we do, you do" thinking to help students first learn the material, practice it and then assess on it using different games and exit tickets.

CEP 822: Approaches to Education Research
Course Instructor: Cui Cheng
This course taught me how to read educational research. I practiced finding relevant research that then used that research to develop a stronger understanding on a topic of my choosing. For this course I chose to research the effects of homework on student engagement and performance in the classroom. Through my time in the course I found articles that had references and were cited in other articles to find their relevance and used that information to help me find articles that would help me find more information on my research topic.

CEP 816: Teaching & Learning Across Curriculum
Course Instructor: William Marsland
This course was focused on using technology in the classroom and how it can be used to develop stronger and deeper instructional practices. Through the use of Hypothes.is and Nowcomment I read articles that helped me form discussion and deepen comprehension. Throughout the course I also built more experience using tools such as screencast-o-matic to demonstrate thinking and read alouds. I also build a unit on creating engaging research projects with my students.
CEP 807: Capstone Portfolio Course
Course Instructors: Dr. Matthew Koehler, Brittany Dillman, Spencer Greenhalgh, and Sarah Keenan-Lechel
This course was structured around creating a teaching portfolio where I was able to organize my work and courses from my masters program. I also created pages that expressed who I am and my experiences in education. I used weekly flipgrid videos to reflect on my work each week and responded to other classmates videos to provide them with meaningful feedback that would help them strengthen their portfolios. This course allowed me the opportunity to reflect on my time in the masters program and helped me think about how I would use my learning in my masters courses through written essays.
